Power Up Your Collaborative Brainstorming and Unlock Your Creativity

As professionals, we all want to succeed and be the best in our field. We strive to come up with new ideas, push the boundaries, and innovate. However, sometimes we find ourselves stuck in our own bubble, isolated from others, and lacking the constructive feedback and fresh perspectives we need to thrive. What if we told you that collaborating with industry professionals, even competitors could be the key to unlocking your creativity and achieving even greater success? There are a few options.

If you're currently enrolled in an MBA program, you're already in a great position to collaborate with your peers. MBA programs are designed to foster a collaborative learning environment, where students from diverse backgrounds and industries can come together to share ideas and learn from each other. And for those who are not in school? There are still ways to connect with other professionals in your industry.

  1. Invite colleagues from different departments: Brainstorming sessions don't always have to include people in your field or industry. Sometimes, inviting colleagues from different departments within your organization can bring fresh perspectives to the table.

  2. Join a Mastermind Group: A mastermind group is a group of like-minded individuals who meet regularly to share ideas and offer support. Members can be from different industries or fields, and the focus is on sharing practical knowledge and expertise.

  3. Attend Hackathons or Idea Jams: Hackathons and idea jams are events where people come together to brainstorm and create solutions to specific problems. These events are often open to people from different industries, so it's a great opportunity to meet new people and generate ideas.

  4. Join an Online Community: There are many online communities and forums dedicated to brainstorming and idea sharing. Joining one of these communities can be a great way to connect with like-minded individuals and share your ideas. I myself frequent various Reddit professional communities, offering my advice, and reading others’.

  5. Participate in Design Thinking Workshops: Design thinking is a problem-solving approach that focuses on empathy, collaboration, and experimentation. Participating in design thinking workshops can help you develop a more creative and innovative mindset.

  6. Host an Innovation Day: Host an innovation day at your workplace, where everyone is invited to come up with new ideas and brainstorm together. Set clear goals and expectations, and create a fun and relaxed atmosphere to encourage creativity.

By sharing ideas and perspectives, challenging each other to think creatively, and establishing clear ground rules, you can work with any group to come up with solutions that benefit everyone. Whether you're in school or in the workforce, there are always opportunities to connect with others in your industry and collaborate. Don't be afraid to reach out and see what you can achieve together.

Marketing strategists are professionals who help companies reach new segments and turn them into customers. The marketing strategy uses such tools as the company's values, its brands' messages, defines and connects target audience segments and demographics. As an extension of my love of abstract art, I also use abstract thinking in my business. Such approach helps me find the "connections of things" and show You the way to the Blue Ocean You were looking for. (This may sound quite optimistic, but abstract thinking absolutely helps me grasp more of the overall situation to find a winning strategy.)
